On the homefront

Its been a busy few days here. It seems like a million things are going on at once. Work has been busy with 4th of July sales and I was looking forward to having a quiet day off alone today. I should have known better. My grandson spent the night last night and awoke this morning running a fever. His mom stayed home and we got him into the DR. about 11. He was running a fever of almost 104, and the Dr, said his throat was yucky. She ran a culture on it, which won't be back until Thurs. They also did blood work which showed the white count slightly elevated so she knows he has an infection of some kind. (Duh..his throat is raw.) He got a shot of antibiotics today and is to start a ten day regiment of liquid in the morning. Hopefully this will do the trick and he will be back to his self soon. He sure wasn't feeling well today. His mommy is off tomorrow for the holiday so at lest he can stay home all day. Me on the other hand has to work as usual. That is the life of retail for you. A holiday is just another day. I think we are planning a cook out for tomorrow night but other than that is won't be anything special. I don't want to deal with the traffic or crowds to go see fireworks, so unless someone shoots off some around the neighborhood I will probably just come in early and read. I picked up some books this week at the local thrift store for a quarter each and I am anxious to get into a couple of them. The first on my list to read is "The Dance of The Dissident Daughter" by Sue Monk KIdd. If that name sounds familiar it is because I mentioned her a few weeks ago. She wrote the Secrect Life of Bees. By the way did anyone else ever decide read that? I still recommend it.
Anyway this book should be really interesting. It is her own story of how she began a journey toward feminine spirituality. The second book is "The Celestine Prophecy" by James Redfield.
I also picked up some easy read novels.
The highlight of my week(other than the books) was buying this bracelet on sale for $10.00.

The stones are real, and I think they are Jasper. I use to know my stones better than I do now, so if anyone out there knows for sure please leave me a comment. Someone from work said bloodstone, because the rust color stones have some green in them. I said no, I don't think so because if I am not mistaken blood stone is green with red, not the other way around. Correct me if I am wrong though.
Anyway I like it and it was a good deal, so I am sure it will bring me good energy.
