Checking in

After going back to the hospital twice since she got her stint in My mom seems to finally on the road to recovery. I spent the day with her Saturday helping her get groceries etc. Sunday was spent with my daughter who has a nasty cold/flu. I watched my grandson, made some supper and gave her meds. All in all it was a wasted weekend. My husband and I were both off today so we went to the movies. We watched National Treasure Book of Secrets
It was fast paced and if you liked the first one this is a must see.

The hole you see in this photo is my bathroom ceiling just above the shower head. It fell in on Saturday night. It seems the neighbors above us have a crack in the tub drain, Guess who got all the water from it. Maintenance had to be called about midnight that night and they did a quick fix with a trash bag and duct tape. I have no idea when they will be back to fix things. It seems like there is never a dull moment around here.

On the bright side I have managed to get a little crocheting done. Here is the beginning of an afghan

I wasn't really standing on my head when I took the photo even though it does look upside down. It is just the angle I was standing at, at the end of the table. I wanted to show the length and how the pattern is starting to develop.
Anyway that is about all that is happening here. (Thankfully)

Oh Patty,I do know how you feel, our ceiling on the landing has come through and water pours in when it rains.I had a builder in to do a lot of works for me ,putting in a new kitchen ,new bathroom and I asked him to repair the roof as it was then coming in through the bathroom!Everything he did was a bodged up effort, there are things wrong in everything he did! I was so ill at the time they did the work and couldn't keep going upstairs to see what they were doing! So now we are paying the price of bad builders we can't get in touch with him ,he has left the county and gone to spain probably with my money,I felt such a fool for trusting him!
I hope yours gets sorted out soon!!!

I'm glad to hear that your mom is feeling better. That is great news.

You know I have a whole in my ceiling in my living room about that size. It has been that way for a few years because we haven't got around to ripping the ceiling out. It was a result from our tub drain leaking. I hope yours gets fixed.
