Tell me your secrets
The beauty of the trees,
the softness of the air,
the fragrance of the grass,
speaks to me.
The summit of the mountain,
the thunder of the sky,
speaks to me.
The faintness of the stars,
the trail of the sun,
the strength of fire,
and the life that never goes away,
they speak to me.
And my heart soars.

Suzie commented on how much she liked a photo I had taken of a tree. I love old trees, maybe it is the branches reaching high into the heavens, or perhaps the roots reaching deep into the earth. I just always feel like I want to walk right up to them and get as close as I can and whisper...Tell me what you know.
If only they could talk, can you imagine the secrets they would tell. I can't imagine how many changes they have seen. Today I want to share some of my favorite photos of trees in my area

The first tree and the last tree look somewhat elephantine to me probably because of the way the branches are reaching up from the trunks.
I love old trees, too, and you're so right about the stories that they could tell! I'd love to hear some of them!
You know you're in the south when you see trees like that! Lovely.
I feel the same way about old trees! There is a huge old oak-at least 200yrs old at the beginning of my road. I often wonder-what that tree could tell me about the generations of my family who have lived here-and about the people who were here before.
Love the photos too.
Hi Patty, Thanks for visiting my blog. I notice that you have about 4 blogs. How do you do that???? I can barely keep up with one. I am enjoying looking at your blogs though.. Where is Hampton Roads, VA.. I was born and raised in southwest Virgina (Big Stone Gap).
Please come back to my blog and I'll check yours. I'll add you to my list.
Hugs,
Betsy
I just love big old trees - I too like to imagine their history. Wonderful photos!
Trees are the greatest! I have a penchant for old olive trees myself....and I love the symbolism behind each species.
FANTASTIC photos! Makes me want to go out and hug one of the Grandfathers (something I've been known to do on more than one occasion! LOL)
I love trees they seem to be always changing some days quickly and others not so.
