Life hits hard

Sometimes life hits you like a ton of bricks, and that seems to be what is happening all around me lately.
For the most part we are all ok, my daughter is feeling the pangs of early pregnancy, and we are anxiously awaiting her first DR. appointment next week. She finally got the ok today for her medicaid insurance, and unless something happens to prevent it it should be in place by the appointment.
She is still working for a few more weeks at her dancing job, but with her tummy already growing she is taking it a week at a time. Once she quits the extra money stops. That alone is a worry, but on top of the financial strain she is going to have to change baby sitter's soon. "Nana" as we call her was diagnosed this week with stage three lung cancer, It has already started to spread, and she is starting her radiation/chemo next week. We are so sad for her and for the family. Cody has been with her for almost three years now. Nana is only 69 and it has hit us hard. She has two daughter, and one son all living in the area. Her youngest daughter has a five year old and Nana has raised him, keeping him and Cody during the week while his mom and my daughter work. I use to work with her daughter so I feel bad for her, she is unmarried and about to lose her mom.
Her son works at the same store I do in our dock area, so we have connections with this family.
I can only imagine the horror of what they must be feeling. I don't know what I would do if I received this same news. It makes us realize how fragile life can be.
I don't know if any of you are country music fans, but this song seems to fit a bit of what I want to live by.

Live Like You Were Dying
Sung by Tim McGraw

He said: "I was in my early forties,
"With a lot of life before me,
"An' a moment came that stopped me on a dime.
"I spent most of the next days,
"Looking at the x-rays,
"An' talking 'bout the options an' talkin’ ‘bout sweet time."
I asked him when it sank in,
That this might really be the real end?
How’s it hit you when you get that kind of news?
Man whatcha do?

An' he said: "I went sky diving, I went rocky mountain climbing,
"I went two point seven seconds on a bull named Fu Man Chu.
"And I loved deeper and I spoke sweeter,
"And I gave forgiveness I'd been denying."
An' he said: "Some day, I hope you get the chance,
"To live like you were dyin'."

He said "I was finally the husband,
"That most the time I wasn’t.
"An' I became a friend a friend would like to have.
"And all of a sudden goin' fishin’,
"Wasn’t such an imposition,
"And I went three times that year I lost my Dad.
"Well, I finally read the Good Book,
"And I took a good long hard look,
"At what I'd do if I could do it all again,
"And then:

"I went sky diving, I went rocky mountain climbing,
"I went two point seven seconds on a bull named Fu Man Chu.
"And I loved deeper and I spoke sweeter,
"And I gave forgiveness I'd been denying."
An' he said: "Some day, I hope you get the chance,
"To live like you were dyin'."

Like tomorrow was a gift,
And you got eternity,
To think about what you’d do with it.
An' what did you do with it?
An' what can I do with it?
An' what would I do with it?

"Sky diving, I went rocky mountain climbing,
"I went two point seven seconds on a bull named Fu Man Chu.
"And then I loved deeper and I spoke sweeter,
"And I watched Blue Eagle as it was flyin'."
An' he said: "Some day, I hope you get the chance,
"To live like you were dyin'."

"To live like you were dyin'."
"To live like you were dyin'."
"To live like you were dyin'."
"To live like you were dyin'."

Please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers.
Also my daughter found out today that her partner at her day job is going to have to move. They have some financaial difficulties and are losing there mobil home and will be moving to stay with family. This means that Rebecca will have to get use to a new girl to work with everyday (she cleans houses and has worked with this lady for over 3 years now)
Why is it that when it rains it pours?

It bothers me that the news keeps saying how statistics are showing things getting better yet we hear of more and more people losing their homes and jobs... It just makes you wonder.
Your daughter's sitter will be in my prayers. I just found out a few weeks ago my dad has prostrate cancer and while the doctor tells him that this isn't what he's going to die of still isn't comforting. Prayers to all... *hugs*

Take Care,
Debbie

I'm so sorry to hear about so many hard changes going on in your family, Autumn. Hang in there, you and your daughter, if you're together, somehow things will find the right place. Remember it will all pass, and you'll be there. I know because I've been there too, only on different cases, but with same dispair. You're strong and will make it.

All my love, dear.

I don't believe in god but I am always told that "life never gives you more than you can handle". So I believe in soul power and I believe that we can endure what is put on you. I will keep your family in my thoughts as always. Love ya!

"When it rains it pours..." How true is that. It certainly does apply to us right now. My prayers are with you and your family.
