Sky Watch Friday 5-23-08

Wow it is Friday again and time for

I always have a hard time finding something different to post a photo of that shows the sky. Let's face it you can only take so many photos of the sky before it starts to look the same so I try and find some place of interest to photograph along with the sky. This week I choose the Brandford Church Cemetery In Petersburg Virginia Now I am guessing not to many people will have a photo of cemeteries, but I happen to love them and this one is especially beautiful. Just look at those clouds against the blue sky. You have to admit it makes for beautiful resting place.

Be sure and visit Tom's for more great Sky Watch Friday Photos.

Hello to my old stomping grounds of Hampton Roads!

I actually love the old tomestones against the sky.
I was actually decorating at a cemetery yesterday and took a sky shot but wondered if people would think it strange - glad you posted yours - gives me the incentive to go ahead and post mine!
Have a wonderful holiday weekend!

Hi Patty
Church Yards are a perfect setting for Sky Watch... and if you are lucky you will see wild life and strang tombstones... I think also parks and gardens or even markets make great back drops. The idea is to have fun.. do not stress to much on the sky... the tinyest bit will do :o)

Sorry, Patty, but I couldn't disagree with you more. I find the sky to be the most fascinating works of art out there... sunrise, sunset, cloud structure, lightning, the sun, the moon, rainbows... the sky is God's canvas. Visit my blog from time to time... you'll see.

Mine is up on my blog.

That's a lovely photo for SWF. If one might say "fond" in regard to cemeteries, I admit I am very fond of them, especially the old ones. They are historically interesting and, if well-maintained, beautiful places to visit.

I sometimes have trouble thinking of a theme as well. I have started going through some of my older photos for ideas.

I agree with you completely about finding a different kind of sky to post. Seeing everybody else's incredible photos are sort of unnerving. I'm finding it hard to find an interesting sky. Your photo is perfect for today with Memorial Day around the corner.

It all depends on the assignment if I find it hard or not.
But you gave me great ideal for an up coming picture.
One of our local cemetery is on bluff over looking the valley.

The sky is beautiful, but I also find the scenery fascinating. I used to find cemeteries scary, but now that I'm into genealogy, I love to wander through them.
