Catching Up
This last week has been one of those where I stayed busy, but really didn’t do a darn thing worth blogging about. I did go with my daughter last Tues. to court for the dead beat daddy drama, but as expected all he got AGAIN was a slap on the wrist and my daughter still hasn’t seen a penny of the money he owes her.
Since she had been to court last time they did take his license away for non payment, but of course that was his excuse for not having a job (can we all say this together..GET ON A BUS). Anyway the judge did give him back a restricted license and a suspended jail sentence with a new court date for June, so we will see what happens. On the bright side my daughter will get his tax money from last year once that arrives.
Other than that I have been working and just living life. I’m off today and plan on scanning some old photos I brought from my mom’s. I really want to get all of her old ones done and on a disk while she is still alive to tell me who these people are.
I’m also sitting here waiting for the cable men to knock on my door. Our apartment complex is being wired for Fios. I don’t plan on taking it, but everyone has to be wired at the same time so I have to let them in regardless. The biggest pain in the butt to this type of thing is it always seems to require some type of extra cleaning and moving around on my part. The wiring they are doing has to come into my master bedroom closet. What a pain. I had to take everything off the top half on my husband side of the closet and remove half his clothes. The closet is a walk in and we use it for a lot of “junk”. The guy came by about a half hour ago and told me what they needed moved but doesn’t know when they will be in my apartment to do the actual work. In the mean time I am fighting the dog who wants to bark every few minutes because she hears them outside.
It’s going to be a really long day!

I'm sorry your daughter is having trouble getting the support she and the child need. I think the courts are entirely too easy on dead-beat dads! Okay, I'll get off my soapbox. I can relate to your wiring problem. The electric utility just told us that we will lose power sometime in the next two weeks because they are changing meters. It would be nice if they could be more specific.
I always had trouble getting any sort of child support from my son's dead-beat of a father. Such a struggle it was all the time as heaven forbid he take any responsibility at all for his own son.
It does sound like you're going to have a long day! Hopefully they will get to you quickly and then you can get out of the place if you feel so inspired.
It seems like your complex tries to get in your apartment a lot. Can they just let you live?
Ah the inconveniences of life - brought on by others makes them even more so!
Patty,
Catching up myself - this past week has been real busy, I've had to have my truck worked on, and we're getting ready for Mom's birthday (today).
Living in apartments can be maddening sometimes when it comes to maintenance - or other things. The last time that I lived in an apartment I worked 2nd and 3rd - my sleep was always getting interrupted. (makes for a 'grouchy' girl..:))
Just dropping by finally to say hi.
Sounds like you've been busy.
