Space Junk and Wild Rides

Did you hear that loud boom last night? Well you did if you live in my neck of the woods. Its seems about 9:30 last night "something" exploded. No one seems to know for sure what it was but from what I have read in the on line news reports for my area, it was a piece of Russian space junk. Or maybe a meteor, they don't seem to know for sure. All the officials are saying is "something". What ever it was made a bright light in the sky and went ka boom. It was heard from Maryland to the Eastern shore of North Carolina. I personally thing "someone" screwed up "something" and it wasn't suppose to go ka boom over land.

Loud noises weren't the only exciting thing that happened yesterday. I went on my first trip to Busch Gardens in years and years.

We arrived early and you can see from the parking lot behind my daughter and grandson there were not a lot of people there. This was great because it meant there wouldn’t be long lines.

We hoped on the shuttle bus for the short ride to the main gate.

Where my daughter who is so duh, realized she had left her pass in the car.

101_0179

My grandson entertained me while she went back to get it by playing with some rocks

and walking around in circles near these beautiful flower beds.

Rebecca soon arrived back and it was off again into the main park.

Our first stop was a the pet show where we enjoyed a variety of animals doing tricks.

101_0196

From there we hit the rides.

101_0221

Our first one was the merry go round

101_0223

From there we went to the Land of Dragons, where we were greeted by this fun guy.

101_0236

Cody had fun in the ladybug ride and also in the boat.

101_0237

I enjoyed watching him and was wishing that grown ups could climb in too. But they don’t allow it. Instead they try and get you to go on THESE

101_0271

Yep Roller Coasters! Busch Gardens is famous for them. I told my daughter there was NO WAY I was climbing on board, but opted instead to enjoy them from photos.

I really think this might be more my style

Instead we opted for a train ride.

Which took us to different areas of the park, where we shopped and had a snack

To add even more fun for Cody we got his face painted.

Can you guess who he wants to be?

Yep, your right..It is SPIDER MAN! and here is the finished look.

101_0284

Of course he had to show off to everyone

101_0301

We also stopped in to watch the Sesame Street Movie, which was in 3D and a lot of fun

101_0182

Next time we go a new Sesame Street area will be open for the kids with lots more rides and entertainment.

We were getting tired by now, so we thought it was time to visit some more animals.

Here are some of them

These wolves have a happy home here.

So do the Clydesdale horses

101_0261

Just look at the size of those feet

101_0313

We headed back towards the exit and took a few more photos

Log Ride

Yep that is us as we came down the log ride. We were soaking wet, so it was time to get back on the tram for the best ride of the day.

The one back to the car!

I hope you enjoyed my day at Busch Gardens. I am sure since I have a pass for the year I will be going often.

Thanks for reading my blog and I will post again soon!

It almost looks like I remember lo those many, many, many years ago. I fondly remember the Loch Ness Monster and riding on it over and over but then again, I think I was only 19 or 20 at the time!

Looks like you had a wonderful time - especially on the log flume!!

I want to go there tooooooo!! Looks like a fun place with lots to see and do. Your grandson is just so darn cute and love the Spiderman look:-) I'm like you, I don't do roller coasters! lol I do love the water log rides, though, and will go on them over and over again. Last time I went on one at Canada's Wonderland, I spent the day walking around absolutely soaked! lol Loved seeing all the pictures. xoxo
