This Book Called Life

Life is moving along as usual around here. Still no grandbaby which surprises me. I thought for sure my daughter would have had him this past week. As of last Tues. she was dilated 3 and effaced (thinned) 50%. She lost her mucus plug on Thurs..and here is is Monday and nothing. Of course she is not due yet, but all the signs are there. He is just being stubborn like his family (we wont say which members but the list is long ha ha). She has another appointment on Thurs this week so we will see what they say.
Work is going smoothly. Thankfully all the holiday rush is over and things are returning to normal there. We have to have our dates down for when we want to take our vacations soon. We are thinking of the second week of June and maybe the third week of Sept. Plans as of now of course are to head to Gettysburg. While there last year I bought a guide book that list a lot of places I haven't found yet and they will provide some great photo opportunities. June also is warm, but not to warm, and Sept. is cool but not to cool..So they should work out great.
In other news my mom took a fall this week and broke her arm two places. She has to have surgery on Thurs to have a metal plate put in it. She got the bright idea to stand on a little stool that she had a plant on and reach up to dust a book shelf.  I really worry about her, she just turned 75 and her mind isnt what it use to be. Thankfully my son was there when she fell and was able to drive her to the hosptial.
I had a blast from my past this week on facebook. I was able to touch base with a couple of people I hadn't heard from in a long time. One was a lady I will tell you about in a future post.

I'm so excited about your grandchild's arrival. What a thrilling time! That's hard with your mother's situation. We had set up my mom's home so she only lived in a portion of it and kept things where she could easily reach them, as well as phones in each room. It was rather excessive, but she was very independent (even on oxygen all the time) that she would not live in a care center. Sometimes, just some motifications can keep her independent. I hope she heals just fine.

Hi Patty, I know you will be excited once you get the Gettysburg trips on the calendar for sure. I know how much you love that place.

Sorry about your Mom. Hope she is okay.

Keep us posted about the baby. I'll bet he comes soon. What is his name???
Hugs,
Betsy

Oh I do hope your mother is recovering well...ouch..that had to hurt.

I hear you about having to plan vacation. I had to have my 2010 vacation in by November 2009...can you imagine how difficult that can be...spontaneity goes out the window.

I have a niece getting married in Australia in Feb 2011..yes I know I have to think that far ahead...I have to save vacation time so I can go to her wedding...

by the way I love your template..it's beautiful...so fresh and crisp...

No baby yet, eh? I have another blogging friend who is due to be induced tomorrow night sometime and she's as nervous as a long-tailed cat in a roomful of rocking chairs right now. It must be baby week in the Blogosphere!

Sorry to hear about your mother though I must say I'm glad it was her arm she broke and not her hip. Hips are a bit harder to recover from and probably would have put her in rehab for a bit of time, too.

I'm going to have to see if I can work in another trip to Gettysburg this year myself. Maybe I can work a date to go with my cousin this time rather than go with teenagers who just don't appreciate the place as much as they should!

Has the baby arrived yet? You will probably get heavy snow Friday night and Saturday - maybe that is what the baby is waiting for.

Hope your Mom is better.
