Photo Hunt--Hobby

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

This weeks theme is HOBBY. You can join the photo hunt by going

  • and view the blog list for them on my side bar.

I am not sure if this is a hobby or a bad habit. As you can see from the photo this week, my hobby seems to be reading. Actually I think my hobby is buying books. I buy more than I read. This is only one book case, mostly my metaphysical books. I have another smaller shelf for paper backs and even another one in the dinning room for my cookbooks. Whew, Maybe I should take up something else..Like knitting.

I have piles of books I still haven't read too - yet every time I go by a book store, I go in and buy one more! It's addictive! At least I know I'll never be bored ;)

You could take up knitting but then you'd have to buy more books for that, too! Nothing wrong with having lots and lots of books!

Books are good. There are certainly worse hobbies. :) And don't worry, you'll probably read them eventually.

Hey reading as a hobby has got to be good. More and more people shy away from books and watch tv or goes to the computer. I read a little too, mostly fiction. Hey and those two brooms by the book case, you don't play quidditch do you? Just wonderin'

I like buying DVD movies and I also buy them more than I watch. They're much cheaper than books, only like US$7/movie (new released ones!) here :)

Thanks for stopping by & happy weekend, Autumn!

Reading is my great hooby too, although I didn't photograph my books, but my quilts. I think my hobby is as much buying as reading and I visit the library every Saturday as well. I own 12 bookcases with books three deep in each. I never add up how much I spend each year because I don't want to know.

Reading is a great hobby! :) My humans had so many books that when they were back in Canada, they stopped buying them and started borrowing from the library. Now that they are in Germany, they've had to go back to buying books, since the libraries don't have many English books on hand.

One can never have too many books or enjoy doing too many things. I love books too... but have had to rediscover the library and stay away from Barnes and Noble these last few years. Have a great hunt!

I also have a ton of books just waiting to be read. One day I'm going to take a vacation by myself and just lie on the beach and read all the books I've always wanted to read.

That's us to a 't'. Of the 5 of us in my family, 3 of us are voracious readers. We have bins and bins of books in our garage, not to mention the stacks in our closets, end tables, desks, and so forth.

Our new house has a formal living room with french door, we're going to make that into a library with glass french doors, I can't wait!

    Nice PH pic!

Thanks for stopping by my blog,

Yeah, knitting is a good hobby to have, but not only will you need to collect more books (on knitting, of course) but you'll start collecting a lot of knitting supplies. Like yarn, and knitting needles, and stitch markers.... And tell ya what, yarn takes up a lot more space than books do. But, then again, nothing wrong with having two hobbies..... Or three, you could take up quilting when you've decided you've got a big enough yarn stash built up and need to find a different hobby that doesn't gather so much yarn.... So, then take up quilting, because fabric well..... *grin*
