Never say never

Isn't it funny how we always say we will never be like our mom, then we turn around as we get older and do what they did. Both my kids grew up with a house full of animals. At times I lost track of just how many we had, and when times got hard between there dad and I I'm afraid the mess they made was about as big as the mess the marriage was in. When the kids grew up they both swore they would never have animals in there house, but both of them have had to eat there words. My daughter has three cats and now I have a new grand -dog....A 13 week old female Pug named Chi Chi...My son just adopted her. She is so cute!

She seems to have a bit more black on her than my Pug has, but I like that. It will be awhile before we get to meet the new pup. My son is in CA. on a job now and bought her out there. He will be flying her home with him n a couple of months when he comes back to the area.

I remember the days of a houseful of animals. I don't know how my mom did it. My oldest always said he wanted to be a vet but now is a truck driver for a construction company but he still has a great love of animals. He and his girlfriend raise rabbits (over 50), rats (yuck), chincillas, fish, a couple great danes and who knows what else. I'm just glad its at their house and not mine.

We have a dog, two cats and some fish. I love animals but look forward to the day when the animals are outside. I'm so tired of pet hair. lol

The new pup is a cutie.

Take Care,
Debbie

Oh the pup is sooooo cute! I keep an ongoing argument with hubby about dogs. I want one desperately, but want a doggy door and let him be indoor/outdoor. Hubby hates animal fur and animals in the house--but we live in the desert. I'm not leaving a dog outside. With our son about grown and ready to leave home, I warned my husband that if I don't have a doggy to love, I'll be talking baby talk to him and patting the sofa for him to sit beside me. He rolled his eyes and I think we'll soon be looking for a puppy!

Pugs make wonderful pets. They are even tempered and good with both kids and other pets. They don't like the heat, so they make great indoor dogs. Mine is spoiled rotten and knows I am her "mommy"
I hope the hubby gives in and you find the perfect pet soon.

I know exactly what you mean. Each of our children has huge dogs; our son has three huge dogs, four horses, 11 barn cats, and a gerbil!
