Fur Babies

No My daughter didn't have a baby covered with fur..We adopted a new puppy. Well actually my son adopted her a few months ago, and then he had some things change (he is no longer living where he was) so he had to give his pug puppy Molly away. At first he thought he would leave her with the couple he had been living with, but it really was not a good environment there for her so we decided to bring her to live with us. Meet Molly...

This is both dogs sitting on me.....What was I thinking!!

Never say never

Isn't it funny how we always say we will never be like our mom, then we turn around as we get older and do what they did. Both my kids grew up with a house full of animals. At times I lost track of just how many we had, and when times got hard between there dad and I I'm afraid the mess they made was about as big as the mess the marriage was in. When the kids grew up they both swore they would never have animals in there house, but both of them have had to eat there words. My daughter has three cats and now I have a new grand -dog....A 13 week old female Pug named Chi Chi...My son just adopted her. She is so cute!

She seems to have a bit more black on her than my Pug has, but I like that. It will be awhile before we get to meet the new pup. My son is in CA. on a job now and bought her out there. He will be flying her home with him n a couple of months when he comes back to the area.

Weekend in review

Well the snow turned out to be a dud. I'm really disappointed. Instead of getting the four inches we had expected we got about an inch and as you can see it barley covered the ground.

We did get a little on the roof tops and bushes had some snow on top

But the only one who really enjoyed playing in it was Lucy

Since there was no real snow to play in my daughter and I decided to spend the day together. We bundled up really good because It was cold enough this morning that a few of the buildings had icecicles

We went out for lunch and there was just enough snow on top of the car that I could didn't need to worry about my drink not staying cold.

After lunch we went to some of our favorite thrift stores. I found a couple of movies and a book along with a really cool find. Someone had given away a brand new deck of tarot cards.

I have not seen this deck before, but for $3.95 I was not going to leave it behind.
I have never been very good at reading cards, but I still enjoy fooling around with them. As you can see my daughters cat Phoenix, thinks he can read them. Almost as soon as I drew the cards and placed them down for the spread he came over and laid down on top of them.

Anyway I was glad to get a couple of good bargains, because later in the day we went by the mall where I found this.

I've had my eye on this for a couple of months now and have been waiting for the store I found it at to mark them down. Today when I went in there were $10.00 off the original price so I grabbed it.
It is haning above my TV where I plan on leaving it. I need to move the nail up a couple more inches, and will need to find a new place to hang the flower wreath that was there.
Well that is about all that is happening here.

A new Baby

We have a new baby in the family. My daughter adopted this fuzz ball today. Right now he is named Phoenix, but that may change. They are still deciding. I told her he looks like a "bear". I have a feeling no matter what his name is he is going to be one spoiled cat.

On the light side

Notice to Your Pets... To be posted VERY LOW on the refrigerator door - nose height.

Dear Dogs and Cats,

The dishes with the paw print are yours and contain your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Please note, placing a paw print in the middle of my plate and food does not stake a claim for it becoming your food and dish, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest.

The stairway was not designed by NASCAR and is not a racetrack.
Beating me to the bottom is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help because I fall faster than you can run.

I cannot buy anything bigger than a king sized bed. I am very sorry
about this. Do not think I will continue sleeping on the couch to
ensure your comfort. Dogs and cats can actually curl up in a ball when they sleep. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other stretched out to the fullest extent possible. I also know that sticking tails straight out and having tongues hanging out the other end to maximize space is nothing but sarcasm.

For the last time, there is not a secret exit from the bathroom. If
by some miracle I beat you there and manage to get the door shut, it is not necessary to claw, whine, meow, try to turn the knob or get
your paw under the edge and try to pull the door open. I must exit
through the same door I entered. Also, I have been using the bathroom for years -- canine or feline attendance is not required.

The proper order is kiss me, then go smell the other dog or cat's
butt. I cannot stress this enough!

To pacify you, my dear pets, I have posted the following message on our front door:

To All Non-Pet Owners Who Visit & Like to Complain About Our Pets:

1. They live here. You don't.

2. If you don't want their hair on your clothes, stay off the
furniture. (That's why they call it "fur"niture. )

3. I like my pets a lot better than I like most people.

4. To you, it's an animal. To me, he/she is an adopted son/daughter
who is short, hairy, walks on all fours and doesn't speak clearly.

Remember: In many ways, dogs and cats are better than kids because they:

1. Eat less
2. Don't ask for money all the time
3 Are easier to train
4. Normally come when called
5. Never ask to drive the car
6. Don't hang out with drug-using friends.
7. Don't smoke or drink
8. Don't have to buy the latest fashions
9. Don't want to wear your clothes
10. Don't need a "gazillion" dollars for college.

And finally,
11. If they get pregnant, you can sell their children !

Organizing

OK I admit it, I am a pack rat. I own to much junk and I have it sitting around in unorganized piles in my house. I have things in cabinets that I know I will never use and I need to throw away about half of what I own. I blame my disorganization on never having enough hours in the day to get to it, but the truth is I am a bit lazy and really don't want to deal with it.
Helping my daughter the last few weeks however has got me to thinking about the need to do something about it. Unfortunately she is a pack rat too (although she is a clean freak so her things are always put away)
My husband and I are talking about moving in the spring when our lease is up and I am already dreading it. Just helping my daughter has exhausted me and it isn't even my stuff. I know I probably own twice as much as she does and really need to do something with it between now and then.
I have decided the best way to get a handle on it is to start packing now. Since I don't want boxes all over my house for the next 6 months I opted for storage bins. My goal is to put everything I don't use often into one. I started with my linen closet and have already filled one up with just table clothes and covers. I was pleasantly surprised at how much room I now have for towels and sheets!
Since I celebrate the Wiccan holidays (there are eight in all) my next project is to buy smaller containers and fill them with things I need to decorate my house or altar with. I use to use the top of my computer center as a altar, but when we got the love bird the cage took over that spot. I had just been telling my husband last week that I wanted to move the bird so I could set that spot back up again. A few days later we came home to find the bird dead.
I wish I could say I was sorry, but deep down I was glad to be rid of the messy cage. Feathers were constantly floating around falling on the key board, not to mention the seed the bird kicked out. I made quick use of the space and now have this in it's place. I think the Budda's look nice there and it opens up my other shelves a bit.

Now all I have to do is find time to pack away all the rest of what I don't need. Wish me luck.

New Friends

While we were out of town my ex-husband took care of my dog for me. We left the two cats Molly and Maggie home alone (he checked on them to make sure they had food). Do you think they got lonely? Or did they make a new friend while we were away?

New Stuff

How do you like the new look? I took the advice from the post I did a few days ago on color therapy and I thought a change might look nice. Things are busy here. My new job is kicking my butt. I love it because I stay busy, but I am more tired than I was when I worked at the pet store, because I stay busy..I work two nights a week and one of those two is until 10 pm. This weekend it will be 11 pm cause we are open late on Saturday..Yuck. On the home front I bought a new camera. There is nothing wrong with my old one expect it is a little large for my purse. It is a cannon power shot S1 IS with 10 time optical zoom. I have become spoiled to it, but knew I would not be able to find a smaller one to compare. I finally settled on a photosmart 725Rv
which is only a 3x optical, but has a 8x digiatal. It seems to be a neat little camera and has lots of fun features.
The photo's seem bright and clear

There have been lots of times that I have wished that I had a camera with me. Last week I was in the car going somewhere when I came upon a major fire at the Econo Lodge. I didn't have the camera, because unless I plan a trip knowing I will take photos I don't bring it. That is why so I am happy that this one is compact, it fits perfect in my purse. Now watch, nothing exciting will happen to photograph ha ha

Animal Talk

Molly: Uhhh Ohhh, Lucy peed on the floor
Maggie: Quick, lets knock over mom's new fake tree that she just bought yesterday and hide it.
Lucy: It's in a heavy flower pot. I better help too, after all I'm the one who peed.

Me: WHAT IN THE HELL DID YOU All DO?

Maggie, Molly and Lucy: (looking innocent) Gee we don't know mom it must have been the bird
Yea the bird did it..
