Doggies on Parade

Well I survived day two at the pet store. It went really well, and I enjoyed the day because we were busy. Lots of people brought in pets today. Mostly dogs, but I saw a guinea pig and a parrot. The bird impressed me more than it's owner, who came in with it perched on her arm.. She was one of those people who couldn't get off the cell phone long enough to pay for her purchase. People who yap while paying for things really tick me off. It makes me mad when I have finished ringing someone up and I have to stand there waiting on them to shut up. I want to yell, Hey I'm done here, can you pay me now. Why can't people simply say to who ever they are having a conversation with. "hey can you hold on" I mean my god, it takes all of 30 second to get the amount due and hand the clerk the money. Can people not shut up for 30 seconds? I do have to admit that I did find what she was telling her friend on the phone interesting. She was saying that she took her bird to the beach today and feed bread to the sea gulls. I felt a little sorry for the parrot. I wonder if it was jealous that it couldn't fly up to join the others. Anyway, as I said , we had lots of dogs. Big dogs, little dogs, and everything in between. I only had to clean up two accidents which happened next to my register. That wasn't bad considering how many dogs were in and out all day. Fortunately both were puddles, but the last one of the day about did me in. It was a St. Bernard. Do any of you out there in blog land know how much a St. Bernard can pee? Well lets put it this way. I do not have a bladder that big. I had to clean it up with paper towels. Which I found a bit gross. I'm not sure why. I mean I have cleaned up lots of dog pee before, having pets of my own over the years. It must be sort of like it is with kids. You never seem to mind changing a diaper when it is on one of your kids, but you don't want to do it for the lady next door. Ewwww. Anyway that experience gave me a list of things to buy before I go to work tomorrow.
