Mac and Cheese for Carrie

Carrie needed a recipe for Macaroni and Cheese. I remembered I copied one down years ago that was submitted by former President Ronald Reagan to a magazine..

President Ronald Reagan's Favorite Macaroni and Cheese
1/2 lbs. Macaroni
1 tsp. butter
1 egg beaten
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. dry mustard
1 c. milk
3 cu. grated sharp cheese

Boil macaronia in water until tender and drain throurougly. Stir in butter and egg. Mix salt and mustard with 1 TBSP hot water and add to milk. Add cheese, leaving enough to sprinkle on top. Pour into buttered casserole. Add milk mixture sprinkle with cheese. Bake at 350º for about 45 minutes or until custard is set and top is crusty. Makes 6 servings
