Review of the vacation
We ended up at the KOA because the Yogi bear sucked big time. Don't waste your time going there. It was rocky, dirty, and uneven. The ones by the water dropped off into a gully, and seemed snakey. We took one look at the murky fishing pond and said screw this. We went back up the road to the KOA. It was ok, nothng to brag about. The site we took easily held two tents, but if it had been a full weekend we would have had people up our buts because the sites were close together. We did like the pool and the game room was big with a tv but it only played cartoons. The pool table and juke box both were broken. It rained the second night we were there so we huddled in there for a couple of hours. They did have a couch, chairs and picnic tables in it so we were comfortble. I was impressed by the store. They had cold soda and milk, eggs and such. Also bread and can goods. Some snacks etc. Prices were normal and not over priced. There was a small gift area in it.
The safari was worth the money, but the rest of the area sucked. I like foam henge, and we found a shop called Celtic Tides in the town of Lexington. She had some great stuff there, and I got a bridget's cross that was handmade in Ireland.
Cody was really good and cried when it was time to come home. He did not want to leave his tent. We had to drag him out and he hung on to the air mattress crying noooooooo
Rebecca said he is a little pagan child and is a dirt loving tree hugging hippy. I had to laugh.
The pictures of him in the pool show him having no fear at all of the water. He took to it like a little fish. It was the first time he had been in so I was surprised he loved it so much.
All in all it was a good few days but I woudn't bother visiting the area again unless it was for the safari. Next time we will go north up 81 towards Harrisonburg and see what is up that way.
